In 30 years, Jordan Brand has never let anyone touch the Air Jordan 11. That streak ends September 15 when COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS ships both colorways of the first AJ11 collaboration in the model's history — $250 retail, full-leather rebuild, debossed Jumpman. Our forecaster has it at 4.77x, the steepest sneaker call on our board.
The AJ11 is arguably the most beloved silhouette in the Jordan line — and its collab history is empty. No Off-White. No Travis. No fragment. Jordan Brand kept it untouched through the entire 2015-2022 collab supercycle. That restraint is the asset: the first partner on an untouched grail silhouette inherits all of the pent-up "what would a collab 11 even look like" energy at once. Rei Kawakubo's CDG is about as credible a first partner as the archive could ask for — the brand's Nike history (the Foamposite-soled Dunks, the ACG-adjacent runs) sells out and holds.
Two numbers under the forecast: public demand 36/100, scarcity odds 99%. That demand number looks low for a headline collab, and the reason is instructive — CDG's audience doesn't tweet. Pre-drop signal for fashion-house collabs consistently under-reads against sneaker-native releases because the buying pressure comes from fashion retail channels (Dover Street Market, CDG's own doors) that don't show up in public hype metrics. The 99% scarcity reading is doing the forecast's work: fashion-tier allocation on a first-ever collab is the tightest supply picture a GR-adjacent release can have. Model confidence is 7/10.
The risk symmetry: if allocation turns out wider than fashion-tier — a full SNKRS release, say — resale compresses fast, because $250 is a real entry price. That's the scenario that turns 4.77x into 2x. Watch the release mechanics; a SNKRS-exclusive listing would be the tell.
Our Sell-Window model gives sneakers the fastest decay profile of anything we track: hype premium peaks ~10 days after drop and decays with a 21-day half-life. Applied here: if you're flipping rather than keeping, the modeled sell-by lands in late September — roughly Sept 25 to Oct 5 — before fourth-quarter release congestion (and any restock rumor) starts eating the premium. Holding a hyped pair 60 days past its peak costs roughly a fifth of its resale value on our curves. The collector case is different: a first-ever collab on an untouched silhouette is exactly the profile that ages into a grail. Decide which trade you're in before the drop, not after.
Three things. Confirmed stockists — every additional door weakens the scarcity leg. Paris Fashion Week re-wears — the pair surfaced at the January show; a September runway repeat is free hype. And the White pair (IV7639-100) versus Black (IV7639-001) split: early leak engagement tilts Black, and if that holds, the White pair may be the quieter value at COP.

The Journal is DropForecast's editorial layer: desk-bylined analysis written on top of the site's own tracked data and models, edited and published by the operator. Desk names are house pen names, not individual staff. Every number cites our own boards, and every call referenced here gets graded in public on the scoreboard.
